Umiam Lake in Shillong

It is the most beautiful and largest man-made lake in North East India. Umiam Lake is also known as bada pani.This lake is stituated on way to Shillong. Umiam is one of the best attractions of north east. It is around 15-16 km from Shillong. It was created due to Hydel Project of dam. The weather is always pleasant and the scenery is awesome.

Loktak Lake in Manipur

It is located in Loktak Lake in Manipur state. Loktak Lake is the largest freshwater lake in Northeast.It is famous for the phumdis floating over it. Loktak Lake is said to be the only floating lake in the world. This lake is known for its tasty fish. Loktak Lake has a lot of dead mass and vegetation which floats up to the surface of the lake, giving it a floating appearance.

Singda Dam in Imphal

It is stituated about 20 kilometers from Imphal, the capital of Manipur. It is a very famous mountaineering and picnicking spot.May to October is the best time to visit the place.

Rumtek Monastery

It is also known as Dharmachakra Centre. Rumtek Monastery is stiuated 24 kilometres from Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim. It is the largest monastery in Sikkim. The beautiful monastery enshrine a golden stupa that contains relics like statues and paintings that belong to the 16th Karmapa.

Shilloi Lake
